Mrs. Audrey Ann Babik, 89 of Lewiston, Michigan died peacefully at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, Michigan on September 15, 2023. She was born on November 22, 1933, in Wyandotte, Michigan. On June 26, 1954, in Carleton, Michigan she married Stanley Babik and together the couple celebrated 65 ½ years of marriage before his passing in December of 2019. A former resident of Belleville, Michigan, Audrey and her husband, Stan built a cottage in Lovells in 1962 and moved to Lewiston in March of 1991. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, going to polka dances, pontoon rides on West Twin Lake, painting, arts and crafts, gardening, canning, cooking, and baking. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, the St. Francis Ladies Guild, The Lewiston Mushroom Club, and The Lewiston Fun Ones, but most of all, she cherished being a wife and a mother.
Audrey is survived by her children, Jerry (Jackie) Babik, Kenny (Abby) Babik, Lynette (Russ) Otto; grandchildren, Erica Babik, Samantha Babik, Michael Babik, Tayler Babik, Sydney (Nick) Daroci, Ryan, and Lauren Allen; great-grandchildren, Andrew, Talia, Gino, Roman, Sofia, Hudson, Ava, Delilah, Daxton, Bryce, and Cooper. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Mary Scheffler; husband Stan; granddaughter, Trisha; and 12 siblings in whom she was the youngest.
Funeral services for Audrey will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Lewiston; Fr. Al Pillarelli officiating. Visitation will take place from 10:00 AM until time of service with burial following at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery where Audrey will be laid to rest. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
