Audrey Gene Dingledine (nee Goetges), of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Saturday, May 20, 2023, at the age of 87. Beloved wife of the late Arvel Dingledine; devoted daughter of the late Eugene and Grace Goetges; loving mother of Cindy (John) Genenbacher, Alan (Shelly Holland) Dingledine, and Gary Dingledine; cherished grandmother of John (Brandi) Genenbacher, Jared (Sarah) Genenbacher, Joe (Stephanie) Genenbacher, Jordan (Sarah) Genenbacher, Jace (Kelley Ludbrook) Genenbacher, Chelsea (Ryan) Dingledine, Lauren (Tyler) Dingledine, Julie (Mike) Hamon, and Jesse (Erin) Dingledine; precious great-grandmother of Jack, Brynn, Millie, Hank, Dominic, Emmett, Graham, Grace, Hudson, Luca, and Sophia; dear sister of Ellsworth (Margaret) Goetges and the late Oliver (Vi) Goetges. She was also preceded in death by her sisters-in-law, Vernetta Nesslage and Margie Snyder, and her special friend, Bob Hackmann.
Audrey worked for Dr. Rudolph Catanzaro for 50 years and loved working there and her coworkers. She led an active life and enjoyed many hobbies. Audrey and Arvel enjoyed their many years with the Jeep Club. Her family will always remember her for the delicious meals she cooked, especially whatever they brought home from a hunting trip. Her snickerdoodles were especially tasty and made with so much love for her grandchildren. Audrey never missed a sporting event of grandkids and great-grandkids.
Audrey also enjoyed going to the casino and was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals for baseball and Duke Blue Devils for men’s basketball. She spent many mornings at the YMCA and Silver Sneakers.
Audrey was always ready to spend time with friends and loved ones playing dominos or cards. She was a kind-hearted person who showed love and compassion to everyone she met. Her smile lit up any room she entered, and her warmth enveloped all those around her.
Audrey was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Memorials may be made in Audrey's name to Duchesne High School.
