Obituary
Dorothy A. Adam Dingledine, 91, passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at The Springs of Lima.
Dorothy was born on February 6, 1932, in Lima, Ohio to the late Ellis and Lelia (Swank) Gilmore. On August 21, 1949, Dorothy married Erwin E. Adam, who preceded her in death on November 20, 2010. Then on June 4, 2011, she married Morris L. Dingledine, who survives in Lima.
Dorothy was a member of Lima Baptist Temple and its Master Builders Class. She was also a member of the Ohio Farmers Union, the Eagles Auxiliary #370, and the AARP. She enjoyed arranging flowers.
In addition to her husband, Morris, she is survived by her sons, David W. (Connie) Adam and Gary L. (Sandi) Adam; daughter, Carolyn M. (Jim) Prater; stepsons, Mark D. (Cindy) Dingledine and Ward L. Dingledine; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; brother, Carl Gilmore; and sister, Pauline Cooney.
Along with her parents and first husband, she was preceded in death by one grandchild, Ben Scheeter; stepdaughter, Lee Ann Dingledine; sister, Helen Spicer; brothers, William (Gladys) Gilmore and Robert Gilmore; brother-in-law, Lee Cooney; and sister-in-law, Jeanette Gilmore.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio, where a funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. Pastor Gary Hohman will officiate. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Lima.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to donor's choice.
