Aurelio C. Guajardo Jr., 76, of San Antonio, Texas departed from this life to the next on June 18, 2025. He was lovingly surrounded by his family.
Aurelio was born January 13, 1949, in Beeville to Aurelio Guajardo Sr. and Antonia (Castillo) Guajardo. Throughout his life, Aurelio had a variety of occupations that showcased his remarkable skills. He was a welder, cement finisher and tree trimmer. His work ethic and craftsmanship left a mark on everyone he encountered. Outside of his professional life, Aurelio was a passionate outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, building and fixing furniture, and loved the tranquility of nature in a shop that he built himself, where many cherished memories were made. He took great pride in maintaining a clean and nourished yard and often spent his leisure time barbecuing and hosting family gatherings.
Aurelio was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and San Antonio Spurs. Above all, he was a family man at heart, often entertaining his grandchildren and great-grandchildren with jokes and heartfelt stories, creating lasting memories that will be treasured forever.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Antonia and Aurelio Guajardo Sr.; his siblings, Felicita Barrientes, Gloria Rodriguez, Paula Cisneros, Richard Guajardo and Jesus Jessie Guajardo; and a great-granddaughter, Danielle Nadine Trevino.
Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years, Lidia Guajardo; his children, Velma Garcia, Victoria (Jose) Cadena, Aurelio Guajardo III, Desiree Gonzales (Jerry Salinas), Deidre (Edward) Cooremans and Isidro Guajardo; as well as 19 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; a brother, Eluterio Guajardo; and three sisters, Mary Jane (Pedro) Rivera, Zenaida Munoz and Alicia Guajardo.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, at Angelus Funeral Home in Beeville with a Rosary to be recited at noon.
The funeral service will be conducted there at 12:30 p.m. that afternoon with Deacon Roger Rosenbaum officiating. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Victory Cemetery #2.
Pallbearers will be John Edward Cooremans III, Alexander Guajardo, John Rene Guajardo, Joshua Guajardo, Aurelio Guajardo IV, Valentin Guajardo and Isidro Guajardo II.
