Austin Cooper Christopher Scalf, 33 of Jewell, passed away Monday, April 8, 2024.
Austin was born in California on March 14, 1991. He attended Collins-Maxwell High School and was united in marriage to Samantha Ann Hunter on June 7, 2014, at Hickory Grove Lake. Austin worked for Compass Group, running the kitchen at Danfoss in Ames.
Austin enjoyed cars, camping and collecting guns. He especially loved spending time with family and friends. Austin was very giving and would drop everything to help someone. He was selfless, funny and worked tirelessly to make sure everyone else was cared for. A presence that will be missed in every room. Austin was thankful for his friends that turned into family along the way.
Austin is survived by his wife, Samantha of Jewell; his children, Liam and Mia of Jewell; his mother, Glenda Scalf of Ellsworth; his brothers, James Mealey, John (Jodi) Mealey, Brennan (Analisa) Munford and Ken (Darci) Scalf. He was preceded in death by his dad, Kenneth Lee Scalf.
A celebration of Austin's life will be held on Saturday, April 20th at Jewell Golf Clubhouse (1225 Main Street) in Jewell from 4-8pm.
