Barbara Lee Blankenship, born May 23, 1961, peacefully passed away July 27, 2024, leaving behind a profound legacy of love and compassion. She is survived by her two beloved children, Earl (Niki) Tidd of Williamstown and their three daughters, Chloe, Ava, and Brynlee, and Erica Chidester of Fleming and her three children, Nathan, Westin, and Hayleigh, and her son-in-law, Aaron Chidester.
Barb is also survived by her devoted siblings: Chuck (Wanda) Blankenship, David (Cheryl) Blankenship, Tim (Kim) Blankenship, Simon (Becky) Blankenship, Trish (Roger) Lovejoy, and Rachel Blankenship. Barb also leaves behind special nieces and nephews who cherished her dearly, including Josh (Tasha) Mugrage, Jenny (Tony) Ramos, Jessica Blankenship, and David Blankenship (Adrian), who will always remember her as a special aunt.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Azeal Blankenship, her brother, Michael Blankenship, and her sisters, Sharon Blankenship, Bev Jacklitch, and Sandra Mugrage.
A dedicated State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) and home health aide, Barb spent many years providing compassionate care to countless patients. Her nurturing spirit touched not only her family but also everyone she cared for in her professional life. Barb's kindness, dedication, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
The family extends heart felt gratitude to the nurses and aides at Amedisys and Waterview for their exceptional care and support.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 30, 2024 from 5 to 8 PM at Roberts Funeral Home, 27880 St. Rt. 7, Marietta, OH 45750. Funeral service will be Wednesday at 11 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Jimmy Lovejoy and Simon Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to WesBanco in memory of Barbara Blankenship to support her grandchildren's college funds, as per her request.
