Barbara Clark Boor, 91, of South Weber, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 18, 2025. Her passing was due to natural causes, marking the end of a remarkable life filled with love, adventure, and devotion to her family.
Barbara was born December 12, 1933, in
Ogden, Utah, to John Marcus and Florence Murphy Clark. She grew up in Clearfield during the Great Depression, where her parents instilled in her resilience, generosity, and the importance of family traditions. Despite challenging times, her parents ensured their home was filled with love, joy, and memorable Christmas celebrations - a tradition Barbara carried forward with her own children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
A graduate of Davis High School in 1952, Barbara's beauty and grace shone early in life. At the age of 20 she was crowned Miss Hill Air Force Base, and pursued modeling for HAFB and local companies. She was beautiful, inside and out, always and forever...
On January 15, 1955 she married David Samuel Boor in the little white chapel on Hill Air Force Base. They first laid eyes on each other at Barbara's first time attending a USO dance with friends. This cute airman asked her to dance and taught her how to jitterbug. They danced together for the next 70 years.
Barbara is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, but also followed the Lutheran religion in honor of Dave's faith.
Barbara and Dave were blessed with two children. Their first born Cara was born a little over 9 months after they wed. After 10 years of trying they were blessed with a son, Jonathan. Their eldest grand- daughter Tyler, considered herself an honorary third child due to the amount of time she spent with Grandma after school and during the summers.
Although Barbara worked for a while at Hill Air force Base, and part time jobs at South
Weber Elementary school lunch program, Pizzeria in Sunset, and a few other places, her biggest joy in life was her family. Barbara dedicated herself to raising her children, creating a warm and loving home in Utah, with a brief chapter in Connecticut where Jon was born.
Barbara loved to travel. She and Dave traveled all over the world. She especially loved the cruises they went on with Dave's brother Ray (deceased) and his wife Chris, and also with Cara and Jon and their spouses. Among the places Barbara and Dave visited are Hawaii, Alaska, Singapore, Viet Nam, Thailand, Moscow, Germany, Russia, France, Belgium, England, Turkey, Greece, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Croatia, Gibraltar, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Japan, Korea, China, Malaysia, Philippines, Austria, Mexico. They
also enjoyed many road trips across the United States.
The family loved to sit around the kitchen table while Barbara and Dave described their many adventures. Barbara loved skiing with her family in Utah and annuals trips to Grand Targhee Ski Resort in Alta, Wyoming. She also loved riding her ten speed both for fitness, and by her grandkids and great grandkid's memory, she would ride to their houses and cook them lots of bacon.
People would always mention they'd seen Barbara somewhere (far from home) riding her bike. She was an avid reader and loved crossword puzzles. Barbara also discovered Facebook and loved keeping up with the family and friends on her iPad.
In 1995 Barbara started doing extra work for Touched by an Angel. That led to other jobs for movies and television shows filmed in Utah, such as High School Musical, Everwood, and Halloween Town II to name a few. She eventually got her Grandchildren interested in participating which instilled a passion in two of them to pursue careers and/or hobbies in front of and/or behind the camera.
Barbara's greatest joy in life was her family. She dedicated herself to raising her children, creating a warm and loving home She was the best wife, mother, and grandmother and will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew and loved her.
