Barbara Elias passed away on Monday, June 16, 2025 at the age of 80 years. SHe will be lovingly remembered by her children, Karen Murphy (Kevin), of Leduc, AB, Teresa Murphy (Andrew), of Calgary, AB, and Roy Elias, of Calgary, AB; grandchildren, Krystal Milton (Kevin), Sam Murphy, Mike Rudolph (Kieran), Simon Murphy and Tristan Murphy; great grandchildren, Connor Milton, Matthew Milton, Illy Rudolph, Elizabeth Milton, Izabella Milton, Elijah Rudolph, Logan Murphy, and Aurora Murphy; siblings, Mary Wildfang, Jean Heide, Robert Twiss (Barbara), Donald Twiss (Beverly), Stanley Twiss (Wendy), Douglas Twiss (Gloria), and Tavona Bedford; and many more family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Peter Elias; sons Bradley Elias and Robert Elias; parents Frank and Brenda Twiss; brothers, William Twiss and Arthur Twiss; sister Evelyn Buors; sister-in-law Marjorie Twiss; and brother-in-laws Tom Bedford, John Heide and Clifford Wildfang.
Barbara was born and raised in Elm Creek, MB. She was a twin and one of 10 children total in the family. After getting married and starting her own family, she moved the family to Calgary, AB which has been their home ever since. Once in Calgary, she started her nearly 40 year career working for Canadian Linen Supply. In her spare time she enjoyed knitting, crocheting and macramé. She also did a lot of craft work around the house. In her later years her artistic side continued as she fell in love with doing diamond art. Barbara was feisty and would not tolerate being sassed by anyone. Her family was her greatest passion and loved being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
A Memorial Service will be held for Barbara at Pierson's Forest Lawn Chapel (4121 - 17 Avenue SE, Calgary) on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 10:00 am.
