Barbara J. Ferrari

Barbara J. Ferrari, a longtime resident of Acton, passed away peacefully in Westford Wednesday, July 23, 2025. She was eighty-four years old.
Barbara was born in Boston, daughter of the late Anthony A. Ferrari Sr. and Wanda (Elsing) Ferrari. She was raised in Lexington and was a graduate of Lexington High School. Barbara furthered her education at Salem State University and later received her master's degree from Boston State College. Barbara was a dedicated teacher at both the Maria Hastings and the Bridge Elementary Schools in the Lexington Public Schools. She had a profound impact on her students' education. Barbara instilled a love of learning and taught valuable skills to her second-grade students. Those skills laid the foundation for their school experience. Former students remembered her kindness, compassion and dedication to public education. Outside of her work as a teacher, Barbara enjoyed gardening at her home in Acton and traveling.
Barbara is lovingly survived by her sister, Lynn Scotti of Winchester, her nephews Scott Ferrari and his husband David, Shawn Ferrari and his wife Dawn and Chad Ferrari, a great-niece Krista Ferrari and great-nephew Brendan Ferrari. She also leaves a sister-in-law, Joan Ferrari, wife of the late Charles Ferrari of Westford. In addition to her parents and brother Charlie, she was also predeceased by her brother Anthony Ferrari Jr.
Relatives and friends are invited to an hour of visiting on Monday, July 28th from 10:00-11:00 AM in the Acton Funeral Home 470 Massachusetts Avenue (Rte. 111) Acton. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Concord Road, Acton.
