Thomas Michael ("Tad") Davis of
Beverly, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on the evening of Sunday, October 26, 2025, just six days after his 63rd birthday.
Tad, above all, had an irresistible belly laugh. It was captivating. He embraced life passionately. Tad's caring for others and deep commitment to his friends left a lasting impact on numerous people whom he loved deeply.
Tad was a lover of the arts, especially baroque and the Golden Age. He wrote poetry and song lyrics. His enthusiasm for the arts led him to a successful career in film, video, and music production. A talented lighting and sound expert, Tad worked on numerous major films and series, including The Holdovers, Olive Kitteridge, Dexter, Chappaquiddick, and Captain Phillips, as well as several Alexander Payne, Adam Sandler, and Mark Wahlberg productions. Tad worked on major music productions, including tours of The Rolling Stones, U2, Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, Steely Dan, Tom Petty, Jennifer Lopez, Dave Matthews, Lenny Kravitz, Jackson Browne, Jim Gaffigan, Carly Simon, Daryl Hall, and John Oates. His television production work included major sporting events, such as the Winter Olympics, World Series, and Ted Williams: A Celebration of an American Hero.
A creative spirit, Tad cherished many genres of music from classical and jazz to contemporary rock and soul. He played the drums and percussion. In his teens, he hosted notorious "jam" sessions with his pals. Tad, also, excelled as an athlete. He was a nationally ranked squash player, an avid skier, an accomplished golfer, and enthusiastic tennis and platform tennis player.
Prior to settling in his beloved Beverly, Tad lived in Durham, New Hampshire and Ketchum, Idaho.
Tad graduated from Malvern Preparatory School in Malvern, Pennsylvania and studied at the University of New Hampshire, Merrimack College, and Salem State University.
Tad courageously fought cancer with dignity, determination, and unwavering optimism. His tenacity was exemplary, and his upbeat attitude and humor touched all.
Tad leaves his mother, Lynar W. Davis of Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, sister Diana Thompson of Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, brother Jody and sister-in-law Wendy of Essex, and nieces and nephews Harte and Maisey Thompson and Adelaide, Kyle, and William Davis.
Donations in Tad's name may be sent to the Massachusetts General Brigham Cancer Institute, Center for Sarcoma and Connective Tissue Oncology.
