Barbara Nell (Post) Garvin, 80, of Winters, Texas, passed away on October 14, 2025, at Hendrick Hospice Care in Abilene, Texas.
Barbara was born on March 20, 1945, to James Henry and Frances Pairlee Post. She grew up and attended schools in Christoval and San Angelo, graduating from Christoval High School in 1963.
On May 6, 1972, Barbara married Joe Lester Garvin in San Angelo, Texas. Together they shared 46 years of marriage before his passing on June 28, 2018.
Barbara worked for many years at Shannon Medical Center, where she was known for her kindness and dedication. She enjoyed dancing, shopping, and spending time with her family and friends, bringing joy and laughter wherever she went.
She is survived by her son, Brandon “Bumper” Garvin and fiancée Lydia Collins of Winters; step-son, Joe Frank Garvin of San Angelo granddaughter, Angelina Kaye Garvin of San Angelo; sister, Della Rannefeld of Eden, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Garvin; step-daughter, Joni Kaye Garvin; brothers, John Henry and Tommy Ray Post; and sisters, Leta Drummond, Cleta Collins Bearfield, Mary Compton, Rena Sims, and Bonnie Williams.
In accordance with her wishes, Barbara will be cremated. Arrangements are under the direction of Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger, Texas.
