Barbara was born June 18, 1928, in Zeeland, ND to Anton and Lugarda (Ziegler) Schatz. She was raised on a farm outside of Zeeland and attended Zeeland Public School. She married Anthony Geffre on August 20, 1946, in Zeeland. Together they lived in Zeeland and in 1954 moved to Napoleon, ND. Tony passed away April 1, 1991. She bounced back from a broken ankle, broken hip in her late 80's and Guillain-Barre Syndrome at the age of 92 but God had other plans this time. Barbara is survived by her children, Deacon Tom (Mary) Geffre, Kathie (Mike) Aller, Jim (Char) Geffre, Tim Geffre, David (Sheila) Geffre, Sue (Kent) Haas and Patrick Geffre; 31 grandchildren; 68 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren; brother, Benny Schatz, Coon Rapids, MN; and her special friend Warren Papke.
