She was born on March 18, 1942, in Chicago, IL, daughter of the late Lottie and Frank Drabant. Barbara married Richard Mieszkowski CPD. He predeceased her in 1978. She later married William Hartwig.
Survivors include her husband of 37 years, William Hartwig; children, Angie (David) Pagelow, Marc (Teri) Mieszkowski, Joseph (Sheree) Mieszkowski, William Hartwig Jr., Robert (Christine) Hartwig, Valerie (Scott) Steres, and Kathleen Hartwig; grandchildren, Megan, Kristina (Joshua) Lampe, Nicholas (Emily), Tyler, Caden, Nathaniel, Billy, Haley (Kurt) Mitchell, Erin, Zoe, Ellen, Kyle (Lauren), Matthew (McKenzie), Eric (Haley), and Alyssa; great-grandchildren, Averie, Emma, Kinsley, Milo, Liam, Maxwell, Angel, and Alex; special nieces, Kathleen Cheatham and Cynthia Kozlowski; special family friend, Theresa Driscoll; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Barbara was predeceased by her sisters, Dorothy (Walter) Kozlowski and Joan (Joseph) Krupicka.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Barbara will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 3, 2023 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 226 E 2nd Street, Byron, IL. Inurnment will be held in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Byron, IL. Visitation of Remembrance will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Friday in the church.
