Barbara Kathleen Kelley was born on September 29, 1959, in San Angelo, Texas to Elvis and Doris Kelley and siblings to Casey, Patrick, and Meredith. She was a devoted mother, beloved nana, cherished sister, loving aunt, and dear friend. She leaves a profound emptiness in the hearts of those who loved her. Known for her boundless kindness, fierce love for her family, and unwavering generosity, Barbara was a source of light and strength to everyone around her.
Her children-Jeremy, Tara, and Dakota (whom she would call Cody)-were the center of her world. Barbara poured every bit of herself into her role as their mother, offering endless love, wisdom, and support. To them, she was so much more than a mother; she was their rock, confidante, and guide through life's joys and challenges. Her love was unconditional, and her pride in them limitless.
As a nana, Barbara's heart found new joys and delights. Her grandchildren, MacKenzie and Riley, were the heart of her world, her greatest blessings, and the brightest parts of her days. She cherished every laugh, every story, every precious hug, and every simple moment with them, creating memories filled with warmth that will be forever treasured. Through them, her love and legacy will live on.
Barbara is survived by her children Jeremy Mellegaard, Tara Henry and husband Joshua, and Dakota "Cody" Mellegaard. Siblings Casey Kelley, Patrick Kelley, and wife Gretchen, and Meredith Bateman and husband Robert and abundance of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Barbara will be met with loved ones she has lost her mom Doris Kelley (Smith) and dad Elvis Kelley and a handful of close friends. She will also have her beloved fur babies, Haven and Baby, so she will not be alone.
