David Michael Snider, born May 30, 1947 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma passed from this life on August 13, 2025 at his home in Mustang, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his father, Garland Snider, mother Berniece Snider Sheley, and stepfather Herb Sheley. Survivors include wife Beverly, of the home, Michael Snider and wife Linda of Norman, Oklahoma and Melinda Tarkington and husband Wally of Clinton, Oklahoma. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Seth Melton, Lily Tarkington and Ben Tarkington.

David graduated from Byng High in 1965. He attended East Central University where he met his bride of 54 years. He earned a BA in Speech and History. David also obtained a Masters Degree in Library Science from The University of Oklahoma.

David taught school at Fox, Oklahoma and Davis, Oklahoma then relocated to Nashville, Tennessee where he was the archivist for the Baptist Sunday School Board. He also worked for the Tennessee Energy Authority. In 1983, the family relocated to Lawton, Oklahoma where David was employed by the Lawton Public Library as a reference librarian until he retired in 2011. The family moved to Mustang, Oklahoma in 2014 where they currently reside.

While living in Lawton the family attended First Baptist East where David served as a deacon, sang in the choir and taught Sunday School for 33 years. He was active in the Royal Ambassador program for the Cotton-Comanche Baptist Association. Upon moving to Mustang, the family joined Chisolm Heights Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School for several years.

David was a member of Mustang Masonic Lodge #407. He recently received his 50 year pin and a 32nd degree Mason. He served on the Friends of the Library board for the Mustang Public Library.

David was a avid reader and dedicated Jeopardy watcher. He was fond saying that he didn't know everything but he knew where to find it. He loved to travel, fish and hunt.
