Barbara Ruth Smith Kimbrough, 89, passed away March 5, 2026 in Tupelo, MS. She was born July 22, 1936 to Ora and Zack Smith in Caledonia, MS. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She married her sweetheart, Troy Edwin Kimbrough, April 21,1954. She attended Bartachachie School and Greenwood Springs High School where she played basketball. Her family and love for Jesus were the focus of her life. Her grandchildren were never short on love when she was around. She attended Calvary Baptist Church in Becker and was a beloved member of the church community. She was a talented seamstress and always found joy in sewing for her grandchildren. She loved gardening and cooking Sunday dinner for her family each week. She retired from Amory Garment Company.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 10 at 2:00 at Calvary Baptist Church in Becker, with Brother Rodney Waycaster officiating. Visitation will be Monday, March 9 from 5:00-8:00 at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory. She will be laid to rest at Durrett cemetery in Quincy.
Survivors include sister Magdalene Ray of Hamitlon; children Sharon Murphy (Timothy) of Wren, Troy Kimbrough (Tammi) of Greenwood Springs, and Dawn Jetton (Keary) of Wren; grandchildren Caitlin McCollum (Zachary Thomas) of Nettleton, Jacob Murphy of Wren, Ben Murphy (Brittany) of Wren, Rosemary Todd (Dominic Wages) of Aberdeen, Kelvin James (Marie) of Tupelo, Michael James (Alana) of Corinth, Morgan Jetton of Tupelo, Meagan Huckaby (David) of Wren, Jon Luke Jetton of Wren, Levi Jetton of Wren, Ethan Jetton (Shelby Anna) of Tremont, and Ryan Jetton of Wren; great grandchildren Lorelai McCollum, Emma Lucy McCollum, Livia Thomas, Eli Murphy, Lily Todd, Rowan Wages, Austin James, Haily James, Nathan James, Aleigha James, Barret James, Robert Huckaby, Olivia Huckaby, Ali Huckaby, Beckom Huckaby; and great great grandchildren Bella Howington, Marley Howington, Jordan Ferral, Willow James and Daniel James.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ora and Zack Smith; husband, Troy Edwin Kimbrough; and brothers Earl Smith and Charles Smith.
