Barbara M. Kurczek, age 101, of Berlin, died peacefully on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at Brown-Wilcox Home in Berlin, surrounded by family and loved ones.
She was born April 19, 1924, in the Township of Berlin, the daughter of Isadore and Bridget Drover Bednarek. Barb was a 1941 graduate of Green Lake High School and attended Green Lake County Normal School. On September 2, 1944, she was united in marriage to Frank Kurczek at St. Michael Catholic Church in Berlin.
Barb is survived by her children, John (Kay) Kurczek, Jean (Dennis) Yonke, Jane (Howard) Wells and Jim (Karen) Kurczek; 12 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Julie Sobralski; and a brother, David (Jane) Bednarek. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, on November 11, 2002; son, Frank "Chippie" Kurczek; grandson, Scott; two sisters, Doris Howman and Jane Werner; and three brothers, Eugene, Tom and Francis Bednarek.
A gathering of family & friends will be held on Tuesday, July 1, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at All Saints Catholic Parish in Berlin. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., with Monsignor James L. Gunn officiating. Inurnment will follow in St. Michael Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Barbola Funeral Chapel. Memorials may be directed to All Saints Catholic Parish and Brown-Wilcox.
