Barbara Ann McGlaun

Barbara Ann Posey McGlaun, age 86 of Cataula, GA, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at Columbus Hospice in Columbus, GA.
Mrs. McGlaun was born July 20, 1938, in Phenix City, AL, the daughter of James Truman Posey and Beatrice Lamb Posey. She was a licensed Optician and worked over 25 years for the office of Doctors Clason, Miller and Nichols in Columbus, GA. Mrs. McGlaun later worked in New York for Rosanne Optical Case Company before becoming owner and operator. She moved the business to Manchester, GA, in 1984 and operated it until her retirement.
After retiring, Mrs. McGlaun worked tirelessly as a caregiver to Dr. and Mrs. Miller, Dan Amos, and numerous other individuals in the Columbus area. She was a member of Evangel Temple, the Red Hat Society, and enjoyed walking. Above all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and never missed any of their sporting events.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. McGlaun was preceded in death by her brother, Ernest Posey. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, John G. McGlaun of Cataula; a daughter, Robin Milner of Cataula; a son, Scott McGlaun (Kelly) of Warm Springs, GA; grandchildren, Cody Milner (Kendall) of Waverly Hall and Tyler Milner (Lauren) of Fortson, GA; great grandchildren, Wesley Milner, Beau Milner, Ellie Milner and Hudson Milner; a sister, Betty Jean Fuller of Mauk, GA; and several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Jennifer Anthony (Jerry) of Mauk, GA.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at the Youth Building (Refining)Center Evangel Temple in Columbus, GA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at the church.
Cox Funeral Home, Hamilton, GA, is assisting the family with arrangements.
