Barbara Newmark Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Campbell Funeral Home - Gloucester on Oct. 8, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

Barbara Ann Dunsky-Newmark, of Woodridge, NY, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on October 29, 1947, in Gloucester, Massachusetts, Barbara carried the spirit of her hometown with her throughout her life, returning as often as she could to the place she loved most.
Barbara is survived by her devoted husband of 46 years, Irvin Newmark; her children, Lynette Adams, Roxanne Newmark-Schwab, Nicole Newmark-Morris, and Michelle Newmark; her cherished grandchildren, Ariana Owens, Eric Owens, Carina Ciaramitaro, and Danica Morris; her great-grandchildren, Jordan, Daniel, and Benjamin. She also leaves behind her brother Donald Dunsky and his wife Janet, along with her nephews Peter and Andrew; sister-in-law Camelia Dunsky; nephews and nieces Bobby Turner, Billy Turner, Mike Turner, Amanda Silva, Danny Turner and Gary Lane. She is also fondly remembered by former in-laws, whose enduring bonds transcended marriage, and by the cherished friends of her children - and children of friends - whom she welcomed and loved as part of her own family.
She was predeceased by her beloved sons, Leonard Adams and David Newmark, her brother H. David Dunsky, and her brother-in-law Bill Turner.
Barbara's life was defined by love-for her family, her friends, and her many "granddogs." She found joy in crafting, spending countless hours crocheting, designing jewelry, and writing poems about Gloucester. Driven by curiosity and love, genealogy was Barbara's passion and her puzzle; she followed ancestral clues with fierce devotion, mapping her lineage through Ireland, Scotland, and Italy.
Her helpful nature, sense of humor, and quiet strength touched everyone who knew her.
Visiting hours at the Campbell Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester, on Tuesday, October 14th, from 10am to 12pm followed by a graveside service at 12:30pm in Calvary Cemetery, Gloucester. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Contributions may be made in Barbara's memory to the www.mspca.org. Information, directions, condolences at www.campbellfuneral.com
