Barbara Verna Serdula, 86, passed away on October 3, 2025, at The Opal in Spring Hill, FL. Barbara was born on November 10, 1938, in Binghamton, NY to parents Edward and Grace (Franchino) Howe. She graduated from LeRaysville High School in Pennsylvania. Barbara was married twice in her life. She shared a loving marriage with her first husband, John Serdula, until his passing in 1984. Later, she found love again with Robert Cross, whom she married and remained devoted to until his passing in 2011.
She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a proud Salvation Army Soldier, dedicating countless hours as a volunteer, living her faith through action and compassion. Barb will be remembered for her outgoing spirit, fun-loving nature, and as the undeniable life of the party. Her warm heart and bright smile brought joy to every room she entered. She loved gardening, reading, spending time with friends and family, and especially treasured the companionship of her beloved dog, Tinker Bell.
She is survived by her beloved children: David (Jill) Serdula, Steven (Susan) Serdula, John (Karen) Serdula and Rick (Elaine) Kirby best known as the 5th son; grandchildren: Kyle (Kyra) Serdula, Katie (Todd) Steffy, Korie (Nicholas) Frampton, Adam Serdula, Emily Serdula; great-grandchildren: Kyler Serdula, Kylee Serdula, and Kylan Serdula, Archer Steffy, Finnegan Frampton; brother: Anthony Mulo; cousin: Peggy Rossy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved son Allen Serdula; siblings Yolanda, Marie, Paul, Richard, and Angelo Mulo; and her dear aunt Anne Kairis.
A private graveside service will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Lindley where she will be laid to rest alongside her first husband. Carpenters Funeral Home has been entrusted with her final arrangements.
