Barbara Stanislav Obituary
August 5, 1941 - December 7, 2025
Weatherford, Texas - Barbara Ann Stanislav, 84 of Weatherford, Texas, passed away peacefully on Dec. 7, 2025. She was born August 5, 1941, in Galveston, Texas.
Barbara attended Texas City High School and the University of North Texas, where she met the love of her life, Norbert "Stan" Stanislav. As a dedicated wife, she made homes for her family across the country, including Dallas, TX, Marietta, GA, and San Francisco, CA.
She worked as a physician assistant in a private practice and was a generous volunteer throughout her life. Barbara gave countless hours to churches, hospitals, schools and animal organizations. For the past 34 years, she cherished her ranch in Weatherford, TX where she created a warm and welcoming home for family, friends and the many animals she loved.
Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and loyal friend. She found strength in her faith and was an active parishioner of St. Stephen Catholic Church, participating in Catholic Daughters, The Alter Society, and coordinating monthly senior lunches. Her smile, caring presence, and generous heart will be deeply missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Louise Kirby-Slaton and Wilmer Austin Slaton, and her brother, Wilmer Ardith Slaton.
She is survived by her husband, Norbert "Stan" Stanislav, and their two children: Lynn (Bruno) Boucher, and Craig Stanislav; and three grandchildren she adored: Jean Philippe "JP" (Otilia "Oti"), Boucher, Bruce Boucher, and Danielle Boucher.
A celebration of life will be held Friday, December 19, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 1802 Bethel Road, Weatherford, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Weatherford Animal Shelter (at www.weatherfordtx.gov - select "Animal Services," then "Donate"), honoring Barbara's lifelong love for animals.
