Barbara Timony Obituary
Barbara Ann Cartieri Timony, 78, passed away peacefully on June 8th, 2024 surrounded by family. She was born and raised in Chester, PA, and graduated from Notre Dame Catholic High School before moving to Upper Chichester, PA. She retired after many years of working in human resources training and development. She was a long-time member of St. John Fisher Church in Boothwyn, PA.
Barbara enjoyed music and arts, crocheting, and reading. She loved spending time with her immediate and extended family. She was especially proud of her grandchildren and spoke of them often.
An accomplished executive, practitioner, educator, and researcher, Barbara completed undergraduate and graduate degrees at Neumann University and later completed her doctorate degree at Widener University. In her retirement, she taught graduate courses at Villanova University and the Wharton School of Business. Above all, she was known for her generosity: sharing her time and expertise, advising, and mentoring friends, coworkers, and acquaintances-who often became friends.
She was always thinking of others and, even through illness, maintained a positive outlook that defied her condition and encouraged those around her. She will be remembered for her calm demeanor, quick wit, insightful advice, and near overwhelming joie de vivre.
She was the daughter of the late Anthony and Wanda Cartieri (nee Wojciechowski).
Barbara is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Peter.
