Barbara A. Tome

Barbara A. (Forbes) Tome, age 64, of Glen Rock, passed away peacefully at home on July 28, 2023 surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of Robert E. Tome; together they shared over 20 years of marriage.
Barbara was born in York on April 26, 1959 and was the daughter of the late Arvil Lee and Eva Nell (Osborne) Forbes. She graduated from South Western High School in Hanover Class of 1979 and later worked as a nurse's aide at the Margaret E. Moul Home in York where she took special care of patients who suffered from brain injuries. Barbara was also a member of Glen Rock Church of Christ and enjoyed sewing, baking with her loving grandchildren, and was known as an animal lover.
In addition to her loving husband Robert, Barbara is survived by her children Shannon Barger and husband Joel of Spring Grove, and Brian Noel and wife Beth of York; her stepchildren Suzanne Wall and husband Lonnie of Jacobus, and Jacob Sorgal of Milton, WI; her grandchildren Josh, Sarah, Becky, Riley, Eva, Isaiah, and Adalyn; and her four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers Arvil Forbes and wife Debbie, Frank Forbes and wife Elaine, and James Forbes and wife Glenda; her sister-in-law Vicki Forbes; numerous great aunts; and numerous nieces and nephews. Barbara was preceded in death by her infant sister; and her brother Paul Forbes.
A Funeral Service in celebration of Barbara's life will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at 11:00AM at Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., of Spring Grove, 175 N. Main St., Spring Grove, PA 17362 with Pastor Jeffrey Dillinger officiating. She will be laid to rest following the service at St. Jacob's (Stone) Church Cemetery in Glenville. Viewings will be held on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 from 6:00PM – 8:00PM and on Thursday from 10:00AM – 11:00AM both at the funeral home.
