Barbara Nell (Stringer) Viser passed away on April 13, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on January 2, 1936, in Delta County, Texas to Eldon and Winnie (Little) Stringer.
Early Sunday morning, Barbara went to sleep in Bullard and then woke up in Heaven. How awesome is it to spend your first day in Heaven on Palm Sunday in the presence of her Savior! She lived well, loved well, was loved well, and died well. She enjoyed the fullness of life here that Jesus promised to all of those who put their faith in Him.
She retired from Baylor Hospital in Gilmer where she worked as a data processor for many years. Barbara’s compassion and warmth extended far beyond her career. She was a loving friend and a guiding presence to those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Those left to cherish her memories are her son, Charles Viser and wife Bridget of Tyler; daughter, Jeanette Landers and husband Bob of Mesquite; sisters, Judy Meche of Houston, Doris Riley and husband Andy of Longview, and Karen Chu of Ft. Worth; sister in law, Paula Stringer of Gilmer; 5 grandchildren, Dr. Jeff Landers and wife Becca, Jeremy Landers and wife Anna, Jenna Mangham, Brittany Allen and husband Dr. Brandon Allen, Courtney Green and husband Jared and 14 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill Viser and brother, Mack Stringer.
A graveside service will be held at Sunset Memorial Park in Gilmer, Texas, on April 17, 2025, starting at 2:00 PM with Dr. Jeff Landers officiating.
