Barry Lynn Shelton was born on November 6, 1950 and died peacefully at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington on June 14, 2023. Barry was born in Covington. KY to the late Howard Wesley Shelton and Mary Webster Shelton.
He graduated from Boone County High School in 1968 and honorably served in the US Air Force. Barry retired in 2015 after a long career with Sears Roebuck which included moves to Hoffman Estates and Charlotte, NC. He was an avid golfer and developed a love for camping. This love of camping led him to becoming a full time RVer when he moved to Fort Myers, Florida. He spent many happy hours at both Crystal Lakes and Cypress Woods RV Resort and his friends soon became "framily".
He leaves behind his wife, Cindy, son Chad Shelton of Canada, daughter Jill Koenig (David), brother Steve Shelton (Cathy) of Florida, son in law Steve Vocke of Texas, brother in law Bill Slayback (Connie), sister in law Sandra Shelton, sister in law Carrie Baird, niece Jill Champagne (Daniel), niece Brandi Barth (Alex), nephew Colton Baird, and the joys of his life his grandchildren Cameron Vocke, Xavier Shelton, Thor Shelton, and Emma and Eleanor Koenig.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Denise Vocke and brother Howard Shelton. At his request there will be no services. Take comfort that when you believe, you never really say goodbye.
