Bartholomew Trevor Miller, 34, of Lower Alloways Creek, passed away on Friday, May 9, 2025.
Bart was loved by so many people. He had a huge heart and would always be there for anyone who he felt needed someone. He was a lifelong goofball and comedian who made everyone laugh. He played hard at whatever activity he participated in, but especially his first love - basketball. As an adult, he felt most free and at peace in nature surrounded by "green." Mornings were spent sipping coffee and soaking in its glories from the back porch or on rides through his favorite south Jersey areas on his motorcycle.
Bart was not raised by a single mother. He was first loved in early childhood by his mom Beth, mommom Nancy, and his "Unkies" Adam and Derek. His mommom Nancy was there from day one and she never wavers in her love and support of him. She dried many tears and shared in his silliness, even "mooing" at cows on the side of a country road. His fondness for video games came from many sessions of Mario Brothers and "Sonic A Hog" with his Unkies. Bart's clownish demeanor came from goofing around with the two of them. His ability to find peace with the natural world first began on daily walks through the paths of Mary Elmer Lake with his mom as they encountered a wide variety of creatures. Bart also loved and was much loved by his mommom Rose. She held a place in his heart years after her passing.
Nikki and Bob Burkett and the "cousins" Faren, Bobby and Cameron were a source of love and joy as Bart grew. The "TGIF Fridays," the family barbecues, the holidays, and the sleepovers were all cherished times with memories too many to count. He always felt right at home with the bunch of them. These folks were his tribe and would do anything for Bart.
In middle school, Bart knew love and laughter with his best friend Charley Ray. He continued to grow in the bosom of her family. They knew him as "Trevor," but the love was the same. After 20 years of adulthood, Bart and Charley found one another and reunited. Once again, they laughed and loved each other profoundly. Charley is, in Bart's own words, "the love of his life" and he was never happier in his adult life. Bart had found faith in adulthood, was baptized, and was eager to share that with Charley in a life built together. He was working hard to make that a reality.
His Department of Corrections family in Colorado also loved, honored and respected Bart. They cared for him – and he would for them. Fridays were Little Caesar's pizza nights courtesy of Bart. He was the coworker many knew they could count on at work and out. Bart's shiftmates shared their lives, faith, and families with him while he was so far away from his homebase in New Jersey. When Bart was across the country, he adopted his canine family – Ambrose. That dog was the canine version of Bart and source of unconditional love when he needed it the most.
As for Bart's mom, she will love him, "Always, always, forever and ever. To infinity and beyond."
Lovingly Submitted, The Family
