Basil Stuart, age 59, of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away on May 29, 2025.
Basil was born to Bonnie and Clyde Stuart and grew up in Atlanta alongside his siblings: Ricky, Travis, Leon, Sandra, Bernadette, Celita, and Theresa. He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Stuart. He was the beloved father of Asha Stuart and step-father of Brittni Beatty.
Basil graduated from Grady High School in Atlanta in 1983, where he stood out as a student-athlete. He went on to attend Alabama State University, playing football as a wide receiver and cornerback. His athleticism and discipline on the field carried over into his life off the field.
He spent over 30 years working for UPS, where he was known for his dedication and reliability. After retiring, Basil embraced the simple pleasures of life-spending time with family, taking long walks, watching football, and cooking tacos with his daughter.
A proud fan of Atlanta sports, he loved cheering on the Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta Hawks.
Basil was a man of few words but a steady presence. He lived humbly, worked hard, and loved deeply in his quiet, genuine way. He will be remembered for his loyalty, kindness, and positive attitude.
