Belinda Reid, beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, auntie, and friend passed away peacefully on November 22 following a sudden cardiac arrest and brief hospitalization.

Belinda was born on September 3, 1975. She and her sister, Judy, were adopted by her forever parents, Naomi and John Reid, on April 26, 1982. From an early age, Belinda was an eager participant in gymnastics and represented Gymnastics Institute of Aurora in many competitive team matches throughout her youth. As a mom, she actively supported her son in football, basketball, and baseball sports. More recently, she was an active team mom for her daughter’s participation in high school and competitive travel team softball.

Belinda attended Jewell Elementary School, Columbia Middle School, Eaglecrest High School, and graduated from Hinkley High School in Aurora. She worked for several businesses and became a payroll specialist.

Belinda fought a courageous battle with lupus & Rheumatoid arthritis since 2007. Throughout her illness, she remained a fierce advocate for herself and others facing chronic illness. Despite the physical challenges she endured, she continued to live with remarkable strength, resilience, and love. In addition to her fight with lupus, Belinda was also a selfless organ donor. She donated her lungs, kidneys, liver, and tissue—saving multiple lives and leaving behind a legacy of generosity and compassion.

Belinda’s greatest pride was always her family. She was an unwavering source of love and support for her son, Dimitrius, who is pursuing a career in HVAC and her daughter, Chessa, who plans to attend college next year to study business management. She always encouraged her children to follow their dreams, was deeply involved in their lives, and stood by them every step of the way.

Belinda was a vibrant and passionate woman who lived life to the fullest. She was a survivor, facing life’s challenges with strength, courage, and an unwavering will to protect and support her loved ones.

She leaves behind her daughter Chessa, son Dimitrius, granddaughter Alaiya, Alaiya’s mother Aimee, parents John and Naomi, sister Judy, two nephews and a niece, many extended family members, and countless friends who loved her dearly. Her legacy of love, strength, and courage will never be forgotten.
