I think of Dr Allen every year on the date of my brain aneurysm burst on March 5. I just celebrated 36 years! I will call my mother and we think about how far I have come since then. He was the best and I couldn't be happier that I ended up on his operating table. He saved my life! I will always remember his humor and kind touch.

A great surgeon, a real gentleman, fantastic sense of humor. I miss teasing him about his attire!! He always had time for his patients, and they knew it.
So sorry for your loss.

Dear Barbara and Ben's family,
Sending deepest sympathies from a medical school classmate who enjoyed, so very much, my conversation with Ben about our neurological specialties and our second careers last year at the MCV M'1961 Reunion. Margaret Z. Jones, M.D., M.Div. M'61

Ben and I, as cousins, were very close in our younger years and spent much time together and had loads of fun. Over the years we had not kept up as much as we should and I miss that! So sorry to hear of his death, and wish I had been told earlier so I could have attended the service.
