Benjamine Scott Simmers, a resident of Pride, LA, died on Wednesday, October 22, 2025. He was a native of Fort Wayne, Indiana. There will be a visitation at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary, LA on Friday, October 24, 2025, from 9:00 am until funeral services at 11:00 am, conducted by friend Ken Guidry. He is survived by his life partner of 14 years, Lulu Saclo; three step-daughters: Candice Baron and husband Chris of Zachary; Nicole Tosh and husband Shawn Sr. of Central; Shawntel Landry; two sons, Zachary Scott Parnell and wife Baylee of Shreveport; Ethan James Simmers and Rayne of Central; three step-son Jessie Russell Shelton IV and wife Victoria of Denham Springs; Josh Roubique and wife Amanda of Central; Stephen Roubique and wife Carly of Central; three sisters: Wendy Simmers of College Station, TX; Tammy Simmers of Ruston; Jennifer Simmers of Bernice, LA; nineteen grandchildren: Palmer Parnell, Paxton Parnell, Liam Simmers, Kelupb Fabiano, Makenzie Shelton, Jessie Lynne Shelton, J. C. Hughes, Ronnie Baron, Waylon Barron, Charlie Tucker, Shawn Tosh Jr., Chloe Tosh, Shawn Phillip Landry, Brandon Landry-Ash, Penny Roubique, Nolan Roubique, Briley Bourque, Silas Bourque, Kameron O'Neal. He was also survived by nieces Rachael Ward, Heather Hazlett, Taylor Simmers, nephew Justin Juul, and niece Faith Cooper. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamine Allen Simmers and Barbara Simmers; Susan Quinn Cooper and Eron Cooper; his daughter Emily Joy Simmers, step-sister Robin Cooper, and step-brother Eric Cooper.
In honor of his joy for life, his family asks that anyone attending his services wear anything but black clothing. Please join in the celebration of his life.
