Bernardino German Escobar, age 53, of
Bowling Green, Kentucky passed away at his home on November 9, 2025. Bernardino was born in Ilobasco, Cabanas, El Salvador to loving, hard-working parents. For over thirty years, he called the United States his home and raised a loving family, founded a successful business, and touched the lives of many. He provided guidance and support through his experiences and let God lead the way.
Bernardino was a devoted partner, father, and grandfather who loved and cherished his family above all else and took care of them until the very end. By example, he instilled in his children his strong work ethic, compassion, and love of God. He was resilient, honest, and a hard working man. He was always be an inspiration to his children, grandchild and those around him. He led his family with love, unconditional support, and a life that was filled with happiness.
Bernardino and his partner of over thirty years, Pedrina Alfaro, through hard-work and dedication started a successful grocery and restaurant in 2006. He was dedicated to his business, driven by his love for his family and his appreciation to his faithful customers and community. He was known for his joyful spirit and warm smile, he brought happiness to everyone around him. He took great pride in his business and ensured he could provide a safe place where everyone felt welcomed and appreciated. Bernardino was a generous and compassionate man who was always willing to help if needed.
He had a love of animals and the outdoors. Since a young boy, he was always driven towards animals and their care. He loved to spend time with his family and ensured they always had the best of what he could give. He was admired and loved and will be missed deeply.
Bernardino's joyful presence and caring heart will forever be remembered by all who knew him. He will be remembered for his kindness, dedication, and unwavering love for his family.
Bernardino is survived by his beloved partner of 32 years, Pedrina Alfaro; and their three children, Nanci Escobar, German Escobar, and Makenzy Escobar; and his grandson, Elliott Escobar; his sisters, Rhina Escobar (Roberto), Elsa de Pocasangre (Jose); brother, Rene Escobar; and numerous relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel Escobar and Magdalena Hernandez.
Visitation for Bernardino will be at J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel on Thursday, November 13th, from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. This will be followed by a second visitation at threeTHIRTYone Venue, (331 Kentucky St, Bowling Green), beginning Thursday evening at 9:00 PM and lasting until 9:00 AM Friday morning. A funeral mass will be conducted at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 11:00 AM Friday, November 14, 2025, with burial to follow at 1:00 PM, in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
