Bessie M. Hackleman, 70, of Lapel, passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2025, at her home following an extended illness.
She was born on August 6, 1954, in Noblesville, Indiana to George and Barbara (Kemp) Bell. She had worked for Deflecto in Castleton as hose operator.
She loved to drive her golf cart through Lapel and visit with everyone. She also loved to watch movies and play cards.
Bessie is survived by a son, Greg (wife, Trinity) Bell of Hartford City; a daughter, Melanie (husband, Kevin) Carey of Anderson; two brothers, Freddie (wife, Jan) Bell of Westfield and Teddy (wife, Charlotte) Bell of Arcadia; three sisters, Jeanie (husband, Al) Johnson of Noblesville, Carolyn Sue Blondiav of Noblesville and Maggie (husband, Jack) Perry of Noblesville; a granddaughter, Brianna (husband, Landon) Dees; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by husband of 37 years, Jerry Bruce Hackleman; a son, Scottie Bell; her parents; a brother, Billy Bell; and a sister, Nancy Capps.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, May 16, 2025, at Bozell Funeral Homes, Lapel Chapel, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel, Indiana 46051 with Pastor Ed Ensley officiating. Burial will follow at Brookside Cemetery in Lapel.
Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Friday, May 16, 2025, at the funeral home.
