Merritt – Betty Ann Merritt, age 88, of Macclenny, Florida passed away on September 6, 2025, at Macclenny Nursing and Rehabilitation Center with her loving family by her side. Betty was born in Colquitt County, Georgia on February 12, 1937, to the late Marie Merritt. She was raised in Berlin, Georgia and attended school in Moultrie, Georgia. Betty grew up on her family farm tending her family's land. From an early age, she learned the importance of farming and gardening. She had a lifelong passion for the outdoors, gardening, and a deep love for horticulture. Betty traveled between Georgia and Florida and made Baker County her home in the mid 1990's. Betty had a long successful career at Rays Nursery. More than anything, Betty enjoyed spending time with her daughters and grandchildren. Family was most significant, and she loved creating everlasting memories with them. She was preceded in death by her mother, Marie Merritt; brother, Johnny Merritt; daughter, Pamela Jenkins; and son-in-law, William Richardson.

Betty is survived by her daughters, Sherry Kibler of Macclenny, FL and Deborah Richardson of Orlando, FL; seven grandchildren, several great grandchildren and a host of extended family members and friends.

Family will celebrate Betty's Life privately in the near future. Arrangements are under the care and direction of V. Todd Ferreira Funeral Services, 250 North Lowder Street, Macclenny, FL 32063 (904) 259-5700. Visit www.ferreirafuneralservices.com to sign the family's guest book.
