Betty Lou Mudd, 96 of Kirksville, MO passed away Monday (October 16th, 2023) at Kirksville Manor Care.
The daughter of Robert & Stella (Burris) Buoy, Betty was born January 28th, 1927 in Hannibal, MO. On June 25th, 1944 in Kirksville, she was united in marriage to Philip Mudd.
Betty is survived by her granddaughters, Heather Alterauge (Jeston) of Chillicothe, MO and Laura Lund of Branson, MO; great grandchildren, Landon, Brieann, Ava, and Lathan Thompson; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Philip; son, Steven Mudd; sisters, Helen Buck and Carmelita Hare; and brother, Hershel Buoy.
Betty moved to Kirksville at a young age and graduated from Kirksville High School in 1944. She worked at Florsheim shoe factory and Dr. Gryte for 23 years until her retirement. Betty was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Easter Star, past member of PEO, Christian Women's and active with the Class of 1944.
Betty wishes were to be cremated with interment at Maple Hills Cemetery at a later date.
