Betty Lou Reese, 91 of Hagerstown, MD, passed away, Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at Julia Manner Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born September 8, 1933, in Shepherdstown, WV, the oldest of three children, she was the daughter of the late Henry Sr. and Malcoma Stanton. Betty worked as a homemaker wife, and nurturing mother to 7 children. She loved cooking and baking. Her most joy was spending time with her family. Betty took great pride in Bingo and traveling the Tri-State area. Betty found joy in decorating and transforming her home for the holidays, as her walls were filled with pictures of the family. As a child Betty would recall the time at Kings Apostles Holiness Church Good News Club and Young Peoples Meeting, under the guidance of Netty Puller. Betty was married by the first Bishop there, Walter E. Campher. She attended the first black school, North Street School, were she was a Majorette and GirlScout. She is cherished and survived by daughter, Ruby A. Barnett (Pete) son, Reginald G. Scott, daughter, Tracey Y. Brown (Stan), son, Christopher L. Scott, daughter Toy L. Trent, all of MD.; sister Traci Saxton NC.; brother Lloyd Brown, of WV.; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. Betty was predeceased by her daughter Regina A. Mason, son Larry Stanton(Super) and spouse Leonard T. Reese, mother Malcoma Stanton. Services will be held Friday, April 11th at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, MD, with a viewing from 10am and a Celebration of Life at 11am. Online condolences may be expressed at www.douglasfiery.com
