Dr. Beverly McAuliffe Bisig

Dr. Beverly McAuliffe Bisig passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, surrounded by her family.
She was a graduate of Ursuline Academy, Brescia University, University of Louisville, and Spalding University, where she completed her doctorate in educational leadership. Beverly served 48 years in education within the Archdiocese of Louisville. She taught at many Catholic elementary and high schools and was adjunct faculty at Bellarmine and Spalding Universities. Her school administration career includes assistant principal of Assumption High School; principal of Resurrection, St. Agnes, and Holy Family elementary schools; and principal of Holy Rosary Academy and Sacred Heart Academy. As a dedicated leader in Catholic education, she led St. Agnes School to national recognition as a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence. She was named Archdiocese of Louisville Principal of the Year; a Distinguished Alumna of Brescia University and St. James School; and a Leadership Louisville Center Bingham Fellow.
Beverly loved classical music and singing. She was a long-time member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, where she shared her vocal talent as a cantor and member of the Traditional Choir. She also sang with the Louisville Chorus, Louisville Singers, Louisville Orchestra Masterworks Chorale, and KY Opera Chorus.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sarah McAuliffe Bisig; parents, William and Mary Ahren McAuliffe; and eleven siblings.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Ronald Paul Bisig; daughter, Abigail Bisig Gardner (Kris); grandchildren, Madelyn Joy, Elena Grace, and Jameson Cole Gardner; and numerous family members, friends, and colleagues.
As an honorary alumna of Sacred Heart Academy, she will be fondly and forever remembered as a Valkyrie – a strong woman of great faith.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1920 Newburg Road, with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family will be meeting at the church prior to the Mass on Wednesday. Visitation will be from 2 – 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home, 3800 Bardstown Road.
