We are saddened to announce the passing of Beverly (Ogden) Riley Gaetz 98 of Waquoit, MA on Nov 18 at The Royal Nursing of Falmouth, with her loving family by her side. Beverly was born at her home in Roslindale to the late William and Marion Ogden. She is also predeceased by her Brother, William Ogden and her Son, Weston Riley.
Beverly married Bradford Riley in 1947 until his passing in 1965. They started their family in Needham on the Charles River and moved to Waquoit in 1958. Beverly was well known as "The Avon Lady" of Falmouth and Mashpee in the early 60's. Beverly also opened The Waquoit Fabric Shop in 1964. Beverly's love for the outdoors, nature and wildlife, brought her to purchase and learn to fly a Cessna Aircraft. Beverly was a lover of all animals she came in contact with both domestic and wild. Beverly was loved by many and will be remembered for her wit and perkiness.
Beverly married Lloyd Gaetz in 2004, until his passing in 2008. Beverly is survived by her loving children, Jean Riley and Gardner Miller of Falmouth, Joyce Riley Thames and Billy Thames of Waquoit, and Janet Riley and Sleepy (Glenn) Baker of Mashpee. Her Beloved Grandchildren, Katherine Miller Campbell and Samuel of Mansfield. Joshua Miller of Falmouth, Jennifer Hamilton D'Andrea and David of Falmouth, Jonathan Hamilton of Falmouth, Joshua Thames and Emily of Falmouth, Jennifer Thames Brady of South Carolina and Asa and Sumner Baker of Falmouth. Her adored Great Grands, Laurel and Lily Campbell, Carter and Tanner D'Andrea, Caleb and Phoebe Miller, Jason and Jacob Thames, Hannah and Chase Thames, and Ryder Brady.
Beverly leaves behind many more extended family members...nieces, nephews, step children and in-laws, she was loved by many. Beverly's family would like to thank the nursing staff and CNA's at Royal Falmouth for their kindness and care.
Services will take place on Saturday December 7, 2024, with a visitation for family and friends at Chapman Funerals & Cremations 475 Main Street, Falmouth, from 11 AM - 1 PM. Burial will be private and take place at a later date.
