Beverly Jean (Evankovich) Humrichouser, 75, of
Twinsburg, Ohio passed away peacefully on Friday, September 5, 2025. Beverly had a life full of love, family, and friends, the final years of which were shaped by Primary Progressive Aphasia, a rare form of dementia.
Beverly was born in Sharon, Pennsylvania on October 24, 1949 as the first child of Daniel and Dorothy Evankovich (nee Lattyak). She attended Brookfield, Ohio schools, where, in high school, she shined as a majorette and graduated in the class of 1967. Beverly received her undergraduate degree from Notre Dame College (University Heights) where she studied biology and made lifelong friends. She received a master's degree in education from Cleveland State University, and embarked on a 35+ year teaching career, primarily at Heskett Middle School in Bedford. She enjoyed her students and fellow faculty, and spent summers working in various fields from the airlines to Lolly the Trolley, always full of energy. Beverly's passion for education extended beyond the classroom as ski club advisor and working with a group of friends to start a new Catholic school. In retirement, she put her passion for shopping to work with part-time employment at Talbot's in Hudson.
Beverly met the love of her life and husband of 44 years, John David Humrichouser, at the wedding of friends. He was stunned by her beauty and her tan. Together, they raised two daughters, Amy and Kelly, her lion and her lamb. With her family - and for her family - Bev enjoyed sewing elaborate costumes for book reports and dance recitals, baking for every holiday, and tending to her beautiful garden of poppies, lilies, and irises.
Throughout her seven year illness, Beverly was supported and cared for by so many. She continued to live a vibrant life, with family, dancing, and the company of her beloved Schnauzer, Pepper. The family shares their deep gratitude with the staff of Maplewood in Twinsburg, Buckeye Hospice, and the many other caring individuals who provided support through this journey.
Beverly is preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Dorothy Evankovich. She is survived by her husband, John Humrichouser, her daughters Amy Humrichouser (Vasilis Pozios) and Kelly (Kelly Mattimoe) Humrichouser, her sister, Audrey (Robert) Tucker, her beloved grandson Konstantinos "Gus" Pozios and nephews and nieces.
The family welcomes donations in Beverly's honor to the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration (www.theaftd.org) and the
Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org).
