Beverly Jean Rouse

Beverly Jean Rouse, A wonderfully devoted Wife, Mother & Grandmother, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at Burcham Hills in East Lansing, Michigan. Funeral services honoring Mrs. Rouse will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, 203 East First North St., Laingsburg, MI 48848. Pastor Johnny Schlaack will officiate. Interment immediately following at Laingsburg Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-7:00 PM on Friday, December 29, 2023 at the funeral home.
Born on February 7, 1929, in the quaint town of Cohoctah, Michigan, Beverly was the cherished daughter of Vernon and Katherine (Leetch) Pratt. Her life was devoted to her family and serving her community.
Beverly's heart found its match when she married Edwin Rouse on April 11, 1958. Together, they navigated the waters of life, building a family filled with love and laughter. She leaves behind her devoted husband of 65 years, Edwin, and her adoring children: Mike (Vicki) Jackson, Beth Jackson, Cindy Endriss, Lisa Lomax (Scott) and Jeff (Sue) Rouse. Beverly's spirit will continue to shine brightly in the lives of her 11 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish the memories they created with her.
Beverly's siblings, Nancy Schofield, Fred (Elaine) Pratt, and John (Mary) Pratt, along with numerous nieces and nephews, will remember her for the warmth and guidance she provided. She rejoins in Heaven her parents; her daughter Patricia Jackson; her granddaughter Jena Tengman; and her siblings Marie Perry, Joan McLaughlin, and Jim Pratt, who preceded her in death.
After graduating from high school, Beverly dedicated herself to her community, volunteering at her children's school events and within the church. Her unwavering commitment to her family and her faith was evident in Beverly's home which was an extension of her heart, a place where family and friends were always welcome, and where love was the main ingredient in every dish and stitch. An enthusiast of life's simple pleasures, Beverly found joy in baking, sewing, and crafting. Her hands were rarely still, always busy creating something beautiful or delicious for her loved ones. Beverly's sense of adventure also shone through her occasional trips to the casino, a pastime that brought her excitement and laughter.
Beverly's life was a reflection of her values- she spent countless hours nurturing her family, a commitment that was the cornerstone of her existence. Her faith was a guiding force, leading her to attend with grace and devotion at Graham Church in Perry. Beverly's love for her family was unparalleled, especially for her children and the many generations of grandchildren. Her presence was a comforting embrace that enveloped her family in times of joy and sorrow. The memories of her love, her gentle guidance, and her unwavering support are treasures that her family will hold dear forever.
Memorials in her name may be directed to the Shiawassee Humane Society and McLaren Hospice, organizations close to Beverly's heart, embody the spirit of care and compassion that she exemplified throughout her life
