Beverly C. White

Beverly C. (Wiltz) White, a resident of Lincoln and formerly of West Medford, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 2, 2025. She was 76 years old.

Born in West Medford, Massachusetts, Beverly was the beloved daughter of Laverne Swan of West Medford. She was affectionately referred to by her loved ones and friends as "Binky." A graduate of Medford High School, Beverly worked for many years as an accomplished Executive Assistant.

Beverly will be truly missed by her loving family: her children, Tonia White-Gaines and her husband Craig of Concord, Charles W. White and his wife Karyn Jones of Georgia, Jonathan D. White of Lincoln; her daughter-in-law Suzie Talukdar White of Arlington; and her lifelong partner, William Gaines of Concord. She was a proud and loving grandmother to six grandchildren: Denzel, Jovonttae and his wife Felicia, Tiahana, Amber, Jonathan Jr., and Brooklynn. She was blessed to have four great-grandchildren: Caleb, Declan, Noah and Levi. She is also survived by her siblings: Cheryl Shabazz of Weymouth, Gloria Frazier and her husband Larry of Maryland, Brian Swan of Arizona, Sandra Briggs of Dorchester, and Terrence Swan and his partner Lisa Epps of Boston. Beverly was predeceased by her sisters, Linda Harvey and Judith Swan. Beverly is remembered fondly by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

Her greatest joy and most cherished accomplishment was being a mother. Beverly's love for her three children was profound and unwavering. She raised them with courage, strength, and sincere devotion, never hesitating to put their needs before her own. She taught her children not just through words but by example. Her support continued through every season of their lives, a constant reminder of her boundless love and belief in them.

Beverly's life partner, Bill, stood faithfully by her side through many significant chapters of her life. His presence was a constant source of strength and comfort to her. He cared for her with patience and compassion, and always showed up with unconditional love.

Beverly had a deep bond and never missed the chance to spend time with her mother, Laverne. Following the passing of her partner in crime, Judi, and later her eldest sister, Linda, Beverly could be counted on through thick and thin. She had the gift of leadership, kindness and hospitality. Whether it was caring for her grandmother, Dorothy Parham, until her final days or stopping by the cemetery to place flowers when visiting loved ones throughout the year, she took on responsibilities with dedication. She had the biggest heart, whether it was family or friends, she never judged anyone and reminded them that she loved them. She and her mother were best friends. They enjoyed playing rummy 500, celebrating holidays and special occasions, shopping together, getting their hair done, and even testing their luck at the casino. She also loved to dance, laugh and get into her bathing suit to sit by the pool or visit the beach.

Beverly was known for her warmth and generosity. She truly loved hosting and spending time with her large extended family, which included seven siblings. Family cookouts were a favorite-especially when Beverly brought her famous seafood salad or her crowd-pleasing pineapple BBQ chicken wings. She spent time at the annual Black picnic at Salem Willows, taking strolls to the arcade, ordering fried clams, and eating saltwater taffy. While growing up, they also enjoyed many family outings each year to Whalom Park. Beverly was a woman who walked with undeniable dignity, head always held high and dressed to the nines. Beverly had a vibrant spirit and a signature style, never without her high heels and often with a touch of leopard print!

A woman of strong faith, Beverly was a devoted member of Shiloh Baptist Church since childhood. This gave her the strength to persevere with grace and courage. While words cannot express how much Beverly will be missed, we take comfort in honoring the lasting love and legacy she leaves in all of us.

The Homegoing Service and Celebration of Life for Beverly C. White will be held at Shiloh Baptist Church, 1 Holton Street, Medford, on Saturday, October 11, 2025. Relatives and friends are warmly invited to attend. Visitation will take place at the church from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM, followed by the funeral service from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford, with a repast to be held at the Medford-Malden Elks, 19 Washington Street in Medford immediately after the burial.
