Wayne William "Bill" Fistler, 91, of Lenox Township, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2023, at McLaren Macomb Hospital.
He was born March 5, 1932, in Richmond, the son of the late Arthur and Louise (Teschler) Fistler.
His marriage to Jeanette Teetzel was on June 18, 1960, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Richmond.
Bill served his country in the United States Army from December 1955 through June 1957 and the Air Force Reserves from June 1957 through November 1960.
Bill spent 30 years working as a foreman for General Motors, Flint, and liked hunting, fishing, and working on his farm. He enjoyed sports and watching the Detroit Tigers and Lions. Most of all, Bill loved watching his grandchildren play sports at Richmond High School.
Surviving are Jeanette, his wife of nearly 63 years; two children, Wayne "Bill" Jr. (Lisa) Fistler of Lenox Township and Jean (Michael) Smith of Illinois; four grandchildren, Colin Smith and Claire (Sam) Jacques, Brad (fiancée, Amanda Meyers) Fistler and Daniel Fistler, as well as several nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by siblings, Arthur, Melvin, Milton Fistler, and Helen Allen.
The family honors the memory of Bill and invites you to visit and share memories Tuesday, May 30, 2023, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Kaatz Funeral Directors, Richmond. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday with 9:00 a.m. visiting at the funeral home. Pastor Katie Butler of Trinity Lutheran Church, Richmond, will officiate. Burial will be in Richmond Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church, Richmond.
