Billie O. White, affectionately known by her family as "Nanny" passed away on October 29, 2025 in South Bend, Indiana after a long and courageous battle with mesothelioma. She was 82 years old.
A heartfelt "thank you" for the extraordinary care and comfort provided to our mother from her devoted granddaughter and caregiver, Jessica Quick.
Born on May 23, 1943 to Arthur and Emma (Gour) Bagwell. Billie was a lifelong resident of the Michana area. Her roots in the community ran deep and she remained close to home throughout her life.
Billie is lovingly remembered by her children: Terri Watson, Deborah Zemialkowski, Tony (Patti) Watson and Nick (Kristina) White. She was a proud grandmother to 14 grandchildren and cherished great-grandmother to 29 great-grandchildren. She was also survived by her sister Sandy Brugh.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Emma Bagwell; her sons, Jerry Watson and Ricky Watson; two grandchildren, Anthony Quick and Amanda Watson; and a brother, Arthur (Pee-Wee) Bagwell.
Billie's legacy lives on through the many lives she touched with strength and enduring love. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her.
Per her wishes cremation will take place and there will be no services. McGann Hay is assisting the family with arrangements.
