Billy Dan Freeman, 92, of Lubbock, passed away on Sunday evening, October 26, 2025. He was born on April 5, 1933, in DeLeon, Comanche County, Texas, to the late James Oscar Freeman and Ozella (McKinnon) Freeman.
He attended Dublin High School and graduated with his senior class of 1951.
He met Bonnie Baker, the love of his life, and they were united in marriage on August 7, 1993, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Mr. Freeman was a self-employed brick layer and contractor all his life, owning and operating Smith and Sweet, Inc. before retiring in 2000. He loved to hunt and go fishing, as well as just taking it easy when he could find the time.
Those left to honor and cherish his memory include one son, Billy Freeman, Jr. of Lubbock; two stepdaughters: Rhonda Feron of Tulsa, OK and Tamara Beneze of Bedford, TX; one brother, James Lee Freeman of Chickasha, OK. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a brother Bobby Freeman and a sister, Patricia Smith.
There are no plans for services at this time.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you donate to a charity of your choice, in Billy’s name.
