Billy Gibson

Billy Gibson, age 58, of Rogersville, went to his heavenly home at Johnson City Medical Center with his wife by his side on Thursday, January 23, 2025. He was a member of McKinney's Chapel Baptist Church and was saved at an early age. He was a loving husband, father, poppy, and friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Hazel Gibson; and father-in-law, John Dana Gibson.
He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Tisha Gibson; children, Brooke (Austin) Cope of Rogersville, Drew, Anthony, and Bella of the home, one he thought of as his own, Mykaya Parsons (Dalton Burke) of Bristol, Ashlyn Gibson of Kingsport, Alex Gibson of Memphis, and many foster children; grandchild, the light of his world, Princess Kinslee James Cope; mother-in-law, Mildred Gibson of Sneedville; and several cousins, aunts, uncles, nephews, and a host of friends.
The family of Billy wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Danny Wester at Rural Health, and the nurses, doctors, and staff of the 2400th floor of the cardiac step down ICU at Johnson City Medical Center.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Sunday, January 26, 2025 at Christian Sells Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 pm with Rev. Doug Gibson, Rev. Zack Lawson, and Rev. Jerry Wayne Lawson officiating. Graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, January 27, 2025 in Highland Cemetery.
