William "Bill" Ray Cupp, age 70, of Rogersville, passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2025 at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport after an extended illness.

Bill was born to Herbert Frank Cupp and Beulah Mae Cupp on December 21, 1954. He graduated from Rogersville High School in 1972. Bill owned and operated Holston Salvage/Cherokee Truck Sales for 36 years. He loved coaching and coached travel softball for several years. He had a passion for antiques, antique autos, heavy equipment, and road tractors.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Frank Cupp and Beulah Mae Cupp.

He is survived by his children, Melissa Boyd and husband Daniel, Hayley Melvin and husband Larry, and Ben Cupp and fiancée Brittany Bledsoe; grandchildren, Eli Boyd, Anna Mae Boyd, Ethan Fields, Isabelle Fields, and Jacob Fields; sisters, Janice Morris and Kym DeBord.

The family of Bill wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Rick Henry for his help during sickness. Also to the staff of Holston Valley Medical Center for all the care they shown.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm Sunday, August 24, 2025 at Christian-Sells Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm with Rev. Steve McKinney officiating. Graveside service will follow at Highland Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ben Cupp, Larry Melvin, Daniel Boyd, Eli Boyd, Ethan Fields, and Jacob Fields, Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Atterson, Lynn Malone, Rick Henry, David Bays, Paul Newton, Rob Worley, Jim Carmichael, and Anthony "Waldo" Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cherokee High School athletics.
