Keatchie, LA – A Funeral service celebrating the life of Billy R. Russell, Sr., 90, will be held at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at Rose-Neath Coushatta 1315 Ringgold Ave. Coushatta, LA with McKee Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Hickory Grove Church Cemetery in Coushatta, LA. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at Rose-Neath Coushatta Chapel.
Billy was born on January 14, 1935, in Many, LA to Jessie Odie Russell and Fannie Maureen Forbis and passed away May 22, 2025, in Mansfield, LA.
Billy fought in the Korean War for two years and retired from the National Guard as a Master Sargant. He enjoyed his time traveling and spending time with “Liz”
Billy was preceded in death by parents, Jessie and Maureen Russell; life partner, Elizabeth Hubbard; and brother, Buck Lavar.
Left to cherish his memory are his son, Billy Russell, Jr. and wife Patty, children Robert Brown and Stephanie Farnell and the family of Elizabeth Hubbard.
Honoring Billy as pallbearers will be Warren Williams, Stan Roberts, Su-Lin Campbell, Billy Russell, Jr., and Sue Brown.
