 Henderson: Billy Ralph Williams, age 66, passed away Friday evening March 1, 2024, at Jackson General Hospital.  

Mr. Williams was born April 12, 1957, at the Henderson Clinic, the son of the late Billy Gene and Minnie Pearl Hurst Williams.  He went to school at Pinson and graduated from South Side High School in 1975.  He studied automotive  mechanics at McKellar Vocational School.  He worked in the automotive departments at Sears in Jackson, Bolton Ford in Henderson, Goodyear in Jackson as district supervisor, and later at Lexington Chevrolet and Jeff Teague Chrysler.    

He married Karen Grantham in 1977, and they made their home in Henderson where they raised their children.    Billy enjoyed building race cars and drag racing at Jackson Drag Way and other area racing venues.

He is survived by two children; Josh Williams and wife Amber of Henderson and Julie McKee and husband Chris of Medina and four grandchildren; Jaxon Young, Cole Williams, Harmony McKee and Kai Gehl, and uncle Charles Williams and wife Gaye and an aunt Frances Inman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Vicki Lynn Phillips, a nephew Stephen Phillips and an aunt Linda Lewis Mitchell.

Memorial services will be 5:00 PM Friday March 8th at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue Chapel with Glenn Harris officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 4:00 PM Friday.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff and volunteers of North Brooke Healthcare in Jackson and Christian Care Center in Medina for their constant love and care over the past twelve years.
