Obituary
Blake M. Colbert, 39, of Prospect died unexpectedly at St. Mary's Hospital on Thursday, March 2, 2023 while surrounded by the love of his family. Blake is the beloved husband of Amanda (Lozinak) Colbert for 11 wonderful years and father to Evelyn and William. Blake was born on October 27, 1983 in Cherry Point, North Carolina. He was the devoted son of Michael and Tonnya (Shafe) Colbert.
Blake graduated from Naugatuck High School in 2002 and attended Pennsicola College before he went on to work for Sikorsky where he was an electrical lead man and a member of the Teamsters 1150. He made many lifelong close friendships among his coworkers. He was a car enthusiast and was well into the project of restoring his 1966 Mustang which he unfortunately did not have the pleasure of seeing through to completion.
Blake was strong and capable yet sensitive and romantic. He made the flower bouquet for Amanda to carry down the aisle at their wedding. His attention to detail and devotion to his bride was evident in each colorful blossom. They were married October 8, 2011 and began their married life in Prospect. Becoming a father was Blake's greatest joy. Evelyn and William were the light of his life. He was a wonderful and loving father. Husband, father, son, brother, cousin and friend; Blake was devoted to all. He leaves a legacy of honesty, dedication and generosity. His life was much too short but the love he leaves with all those who were blessed to know him will live on forever.
Blake is survived by his loving wife Amanda, his children Evelyn, 9, and William, 6, and his parents Michael and Tonnya Colbert of Naugatuck. He will be missed tremendously by his brother Brandon Colbert of Naugatuck, and sisters Cherell (Christopher) Cobb of SC and Alyssa(Mike) Morrow of Fl. Blake is also survived by mother and father in law Kathleen and David Lozinak of Shelton and sisters-in-law: Kristy(Kevin) Lozinak, Emily (Dan) DelPiano, Catheryn (Matthew) Gorel and Gillian(David) Lozinak.
Friends and family are invited to visit with Blake's family on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 from 4 pm to 7 pm at Prospect Memorial/ The Palmerie Family Funeral Home, 122 Waterbury Rd., Prospect. I remember Blake from back when I used to work in the cafe in Sikorsky. I never knew his name but he would always come to my station to get something to eat. He was one of my favorite customers and I always enjoyed talking to him. My condolences to his family.

My family and I have lived alongside of Blake and Amanda for almost 7 years. We both had our youngest kids at the same time. All of our kids have played in our adjoining back yards and out front riding bikes in the street every summer. This year our babies started kindergarten together. Looking back these are precious memories that come and go entirely too quickly. Just the other day we had a nicer day and my husband and Blake ended up in the road together watching our kids ride around in the street as we have so many times before. It was chilly and I stayed in the warmth of the car only waving hello to Blake. I´d usually always go over to chat but I figured we´ll be seeing a lot more of our neighbors soon as the weather is getting nicer. I wish I had gone over now just to say hello. We never expect to lose the kind people that bless us with their presence in our daily lives. We came and went everyday side by side. I will miss turning around in my kitchen waving hello as you backed your camper by my window to park out back in the yard. I will miss looking out and seeing you watching your kids race around your dirt track on their quads. And I will miss seeing you with your family tinkering around your property and stopping over to say hello. We could see what a devoted husband and father you are. We just lost a great neighbor. We are devastated for you Amanda and the kids and we are here crying with you. Amanda, please know we are here for you and the kids and will continue to be here for whatever you need. We wish you comfort and peace in these difficult days. Amancio Family

I am a co worker of Blake´s. I hand out tools and Hardware.
When I first met Blake he and two others were known by me as "The A Team".
We shared stories and laughter at my window. He shared his great love for his children and always referred to his wife as `Babe´. I would encounter him in traffic and in stores outside of work and he always had a smile. He was a good soul and he will be missed by many and I will remember him. I pray for strength for his Family as they persevere in their great sorrow and loss of one so loved by them.
Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die.
