Robert "Bob" Fisher, 79, of Tatamy, PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at Arden Courts - ProMedica Memory Care Community in Easton, PA. He was the beloved husband of Colette (Palmeri) Fisher with whom he celebrated 40 years of marriage.
Born in Easton on October 11, 1944, he was the son of the late George and Alma (Smith) Fisher.
He was a graduate of Wilson Area High School and East Stroudsburg University, where he earned his B.S. and M.S. in mathematics. He was a math teacher for the Easton Area School District for 36 years. After retiring in 2002, he taught as an adjunct instructor at Northampton Community College, and he worked as a tax preparer for Jeffrey T. Riddle, CPA, of Riddle & Pringle LLC.
He was a faithful member of Holy Family Catholic Church of Nazareth, PA. Bob served on the parish council, and he served as a Eucharistic minister, assisting with training and scheduling and administering Holy Communion. He was also a Eucharistic minister and Saturday Mass volunteer for Gracedale Nursing Home for many years. He was a member and president of both Nazareth Lions Club and the Tatamy Borough Council. He was a member of Easton Area Education Association (EAEA) and Pennsylvania State Education Association (PSEA). He was awarded the 1993 Easton Schoolmen's Association Award for outstanding dedication in the education field for his fundraising efforts dedicated to college scholarships for students. He enjoyed being the adviser to student bowling and ski clubs and officiating PIAA Track & Field. He assisted and coached little league sports and Holy Family basketball while his sons played. He always enjoyed and thrived by serving his community, church, and school. At home he enjoyed watching Philadelphia sports, especially "the boys of summer" (the Phillies). Throughout his life, he greatly enjoyed spending time at the Jersey Shore.
