Bobbie Warren Carter
(June 19, 1945 – February 23, 2023)
CARTER- It is with sadness and joy that we announce the passing of our wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Mrs. Bobbie Warren Carter. After an extended illness, she died peacefully in her Montgomery home on February 23, 2023, while under the care of her husband of 53 years, Larry Carter. In addition to her husband, Bobbie is survived by three sons, Robb (Megean), Troy (Heather), Mark (Kathy), her brother Sam (Kate) Peebles, and six grandchildren, Currin, Ethan, Cameron, Evyn, Marin, and Caroline, all of whom were her pride and joy.
Bobbie was born in Brewton, Alabama, on June 19, 1945, to Mr. and Mrs. Robert (Syble) Peebles. She was valedictorian of her graduating class at W.S. Neal High School. She graduated with a degree in Education from Auburn University and went on to teach English at J.M. Tate High School in Pensacola, Florida, where she met and married Larry.
Bobbie lived a full life. As a group leader in Bible Study Fellowship for over twenty years and a regular volunteer at the Respite Ministry at First United Methodist Church, she made a significant impact on many hearts and lives. She was a devoted caregiver to both her father and mother in their later years. She loved her sons dearly and was so excited when they finally married. She enjoyed spending time with her daughters-in-law and didn't hesitate to start dropping hints about wanting grandchildren. She spoiled her grandchildren with the time she spent with them, and they loved her for it.
Bobbie's bubbly personality and caring heart endeared her to all who had the privilege of spending time with her. She will be missed by so many, but we are thankful to know she is now at peace with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. A celebration of Bobbie's life will be held Tuesday, February 28, 2023, in the sanctuary of First United Methodist Church in Montgomery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., with a memorial service following at 10:30 a.m. There will be a private ceremony at the family cemetery in Brewton, Alabama with WILLIAMS MEMORIAL CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME OF BREWTON, ALABAMA DIRECTING.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Respite Ministry at First United Methodist Church in Montgomery, where Bobbie was a loving volunteer and participant for many years.
